colorful bright place

A very close friend of mine told me I don't have any "happy paintings". This is what I have so far, and hopefully I can take it to a finish real soon inbetween projects. The national geographic image is reference for the palette I'll be going for. Colorful right? Btw, he runs a very well known sushi restaurant..so if he gives me any lip...I'll go in there and tell him how to cut sashimi. =)

speedpaint of a sunset

Had some free time inbetween projects, so I wanted to paint a sunset hitting some water, and this is what I ended up with. Hopefully I can take this to a finish later. Some parts of the painting I don't really like, so we'll see when I have time.

BACK IN LOS ANGELES

BACK IN LOS ANGELES!! Been away from home for 4 years, doesn't feel like home. As soon as my cintiq and rest of my belongings arrive, I'll be able to resume freelancing.

I'm currently open for freelance at the moment. Thanks.

Moving back to cali

So its official, I'll be back in Los Angeles March 14th to freelance from there. I love Chicago, and I'll visit here as much as I can ( except the winter) I have great memories being at Midway for 2 years. I told myself I'm only going to take a full time position if I really believed in the company. I don't know how long I will stay in Los Angeles, because Seattle and Vancouver is tempting me.

Oh also, a close friend of mine launched a record label. If you like house music, check it out.
http://homeschooledmusic.com/ I'll be doing his album cover as well, which is pretty sick.

Southeast Asia

Had to come up with a hidden lair/base of an evil arms dealer in south east asia. It was suppose to have a huge airfield along with military training facilities.

This had to have been one of the most challenging paintings I have ever done, usually I'm used to spending 3-5 days for a painting and I never see it again....not this one. This one seemed to never end, being given the size and res for this piece, when I found out how wide it was, I almost jumped out of my seat!

Sorry the painting is so small on here...its the widest Blog allows to post.

Prague panorama in game skydome/matte painting

I did a concept of a painting that was a lot of fun..and after the concept...they wanted me to make a matte painting of it....

Black/white speedpaintings of caves

I love doing these, straight to the point of what I want and makes every art director happy.

country side highway

Had to create a highway in the countryside of Europe for a game.....how boring right?? Had to make the best of it. =)

speed painting of a base I did a little while back

Night shot

Here's a painting I've been working on that is an experiment. Basically I built the shapes in 3dmax, and wanted to animate the painting by using projection maps with the original 3d max file. Video clip will be added when I figure the thing out.
